Innsbruck International is a Biennial of the Arts drawing a diverse array of national and international contemporary artists to the historic city.
The theme of Innsbruck International 2020 is HUMAN CAPITAL, a continued call to personal activism that builds on 2018’s banner of AGENTS OF SOCIAL CHANGE and what it means to ‘be alive today’. This year’s roster of programmes, set amongst Innsbruck’s striking contemporary and historic venues, examines the impact of today’s right- and left-wing populism on democracy using a variety of artistic approaches; performance, film, and music will highlight populism’s impact on personal responsibility, individual behaviour, the redrawing of boundaries, and our lives in the digital age – which reduces us to numbers, to ‘human capital’.
