Felix Gonzalez-Torres’s intention was for the current owner to be named in the Certificates of Authenticity and Ownership for certain malleable and manifestable works, whenever possible. Additionally, it was intended that the language of these certificates could change over time in keeping with the evolving ability to perceive and describe the specific, yet open-ended nature of the work. The Foundation’s current policy is to continue the practice of the re-issuance of Certificates of Authenticity and Ownership for such works.
The Foundation considers re-issuance of lost Certificates of Authenticity and Ownership and Certificates of Authenticity on a case-by-case basis.
