This exhibition expands upon an original presentation in Puerto Rico which, for the first time, examined Felix Gonzalez-Torres's early production starting during his university years in Puerto Rico during the late 1970s. By placing these initial documents in relationship to selections from his renowned, mature oeuvre, the origins of some of his resonant, intimate, conceptual and political concerns can be seen- particularly Gonzalez-Torres' innovative and powerful use of printed and mass media.
